Vietnamese Bars Named to Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026

The Asia’s 50 Best Bars list has just been announced, honoring two Vietnamese representatives on the ranking, one of the most prestigious awards in Asia’s bartending industry. This year, Workshop14 (Hanoi) became Vietnam’s highest-ranked bar and was also awarded the title of Best Bar in Vietnam 2026. Alongside it, The Hudson Rooms (Hanoi) also secured a spot on the list, affirming Vietnam’s growing presence on the region’s cocktail map.

Workshop14 was one of the most talked-about names this year, rising into Asia’s top ranks shortly after opening. Set beside West Lake, its minimalist space of wood, natural light, and quiet stands in deliberate contrast to Hanoi’s bustling pace. Behind the project are Richard McDonough (The Mood Therapist), Hiếu Long, and Cường Nguyễn — a trio combining modern bartending craft, design thinking, and hospitality operations experience. The standout cocktail menu features bold creations like Can’t Stand The Heat and Don’t Panic, showcasing contemporary technique while still telling a story rooted in local culture. As Vietnam’s highest-ranked bar this year, Workshop14 was also named Best Bar in Vietnam 2026 — a milestone for Vietnam’s cocktail scene on the international stage.

No.46 The Hudson Rooms – A New York-inspired cocktail journey in the heart of Hanoi

Perched on the rooftop of Capella Hanoi, The Hudson Rooms channels the Art Deco spirit of New York’s Grand Central Terminal in the 1920s. Its elegant space, paired with views over the Old Quarter, creates an atmosphere both classic and contemporary. The bar’s signature feature is a cocktail menu inspired by America’s iconic railway routes, where each drink tells a story of journeys, places, and memory. Beyond the main bar, the hidden Track 61 offers a more intimate experience with signature pours like the Park Avenue. The combination of refined design, elevated service, and a storytelling-driven drinks program has made The Hudson Rooms Vietnam’s second entry on Asia’s 50 Best Bars, further cementing Hanoi’s standing as a cocktail destination to watch in the region.

The presence of two bars on Asia’s 50 Best Bars reflects more than individual bartending teams’ achievements — it signals the maturing of Vietnam’s cocktail culture as a whole. From technique and space design to storytelling through drinks, Vietnamese bartenders are steadily building a distinct identity and drawing international industry attention.

Beyond the two Top 50 entries, Vietnam also made its mark in the extended 51–100 list. The Enigma Mansion (Ho Chi Minh City) ranked 55th and posted the year’s biggest climb, jumping 38 spots from 2025. Following its 2024 repositioning, the bar offers a contemporary cocktail experience inside a heritage villa, spotlighting Vietnamese ingredients through creations such as a Phú Quốc peppercorn cocktail. Meanwhile, Stir (Ho Chi Minh City) placed 84th, distinguished by a menu inspired by journeys of discovery across Vietnam, using local ingredients and modern technique within a nostalgic space overlooking Bến Thành Market. With four representatives across both the Top 50 and the 51–100 list, Vietnam’s standing on Asia’s cocktail map continues to grow stronger.
